I am currently a Project Lead and wanna pivot towards TPM roles. What I am doing is trying to connect with TPM’s in different organizations to understand what they do in their day to day work. Reading lots of posts/you tube videos on TPM roles and interview questions. Meanwhile looking for jobs and applying as well. Certification wise I want go for PMP for the long run but that requires lots of study time that I am not able to manage that with my personal commitments , but will do it. Currently I am going ahead with SAFE certification, since that is what my organization has asked us to do. Happy to help in anyway I can.

I have been in full time permanent work my entire career. If I were to transition to a full time contract role where I’m paying for everything, what is a formula I can use to calculate the salary I want if I’m trying to get a 25% bump in my total compensation? Ex - if I currently make $100k as a permanent fte and my next job I want to make is $125k but I go from permanent to contract work, what is a suitable figure to ask for? Need to calculate paying taxes and the benefits I would be losing.

I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!

Our school instituted a district wide 50% floor/grading policy. If you give a student an assignment and they do nothing, not even write their name, or turn in a blank sheet of paper, they get a 50%. If they score less than 50% on a quiz or test, we have to mark it up to a 50%. This is the new norm and is causing kids to not do work, or just the bare minimum. It has taken the joy out of teaching and has taken away the accountability of students. Anyone else facing this? What do you do?

To be honest I’m happy and like my role, plus it’s too early to think about switching firms already. I am now the only analyst left, we have another one joining in January.
