I think it largely depends on where you want to be. Getting a visa in the US in incredibly challenging, so potentially an MBA degree might be a better move (especially if you apply for a quant focus, as it gives you three years in the US vs just two). Even with you being 11 YOE, there are quite a few MBA programs that trend slightly older and might be a good fit. Babson is well known for its entrepreneurship background but founding another company over the course of a year (unless it’s a two year MS program and/or your company is bought out by FAANG) isn’t probably going to help the way Harvard, Stanford or any other M7 MBA might landing a sponsored role. If you want to live in the EU, taking the executive MBA option seems like a great alternative. If it’s LBS or INSEAD, they have great placement for sponsored roles. INSEAD also tends to trend higher of YOE and has excellent placement for consulting if that’s something you’re looking at. I’m based in the US and can’t speak to the difficult of getting visas/green cards but from what you’ve said, I think an EMBA in London is an excellent way to connect with an EU heavy alumni group & potentially transition. If location isn’t your main goal, then I’d potentially look at the INSEAD program in Singapore or any other partnership EMBA programs close to home. Ultimately, I’m not sure if you are asking about opportunity cost vs career pivot/advice here but hopefully that helps!

Any insight on pay and WLB at the major boutique firms (Avascent, Renaissance, Fairmont, CSP, etc)? Might be interested in transitioning to the A&D sector. 2 years post-MBA in M&A consulting and I have ~7 years government experience prior to b-school and previously held a TS/SCI. TIA Avascent

Is the main advantage of applying to mba early simply to literally start making more sooner? Is it easier when you’re younger? I’m fortunately not in a rush to apply and I think next year my app will be stronger, my income is not gonna be much higher post mba, I’ll have another promotion, better recs, and less debt to take on. What am I missing?
