I moved to Lake Mary for this role last year. I love this place. Outdoors stuff like kayaking and swimming in the springs, good restaurants, right by Sanford if you enjoy bars and food and art, nice little lake to walk around (Lake Monroe). A bit further away in Orlando you have all the attractions of course. As for the USDC, I’ve only had positive experiences too. Maybe I’m lucky but the people I work with are fantastic and I enjoy the work. Hope this helps.

USDC is better than PDM but worse than core consulting if that helps.

I guess takeaway is that it is lower than core for both. Bench is another big difference - better in USDC

How to get over imposter syndrome? Came from consulting and moved into a program manager role and I’m the first hire in this role and have the potential to build out a team and make lasting impact. Its week 1 and I feel like I’m in way over my head! How do you shake this feeling? I know I can do the job but I am sometimes my own worst enemy when it comes to pushing myself outside my comfort zone. Hubs has been helpful in hyping me up but I still feel so imposter-y.

How much does it slow down (or speed up) your career if you chose to be a generalist i.e. not specialize in any one area. Do MBB still hire general consultants or is focus squarely on experience?

Do you have a place where you're able to lock up your stuff in your classroom? I don't and I'm not sure if I should make a big deal about it.

How are hours at big 4? In strategy/transaction teams

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?

Confession - I don't want to go back to office. I'm happy working from home and find no solid reason in stepping back. I hope the flexi work culture allows permanent WFH - I don't have a "good enough" reason, but I don't want to go (isn't this good enough?) It's been 1.5 years now, too comfortable to step out from my PJs to jeans.
