Who cares? If they needed to roll you or fire you, they would. Be selfish. Get the new job and put in 2 weeks and move on. Get your 70k

Yeah, you won't see 70k bump at D. You have to think about yourself.

Nah, actually sounds like pretty good timing.

For a 70k pay bump, I wouldn’t be concerned. I mean if you think you’d ever want to go back, maybe, but even then....best of luck, hope everything works out!

like

Op I would also like to join you

I would just give them more than 2 weeks notice so they can likely staff someone to overlap with you to finish the work. If you’re apologetic and explain it was an offer you couldn’t refuse, I think good leadership will understand!

If you have flexibility on your start date, you could ask to push it back a few weeks. I did that once. If not, you could give your PM a confidential heads up ahead of time, but there is no guarantee they will (or even can) keep it confidential. You put yourself at risk if the offer is not completely locked in. Otherwise I suppose if you want to burn the midnight oil to finish early that’s a possibility, but that doesn’t always work when you have review cycles etc. Certainly I would think your leadership would question why you were aiming for a target two weeks ahead, if that became apparent. In the end, it’s just business and I don’t think they will hate you for it, these things happen and you might have noticed that consultants have found ways to deal with last minute curve balls and fire drills. They will find a way. Do what’s right for you.

Will this put me in a tough spot or hurt my relationship with leadership/management?

I would stay to close out the project. Explain to your new employer and they will not only understand but thank you since they know you would extend them the same courtesy. Deloitte waited 3 months for me because of a commitment I had made to my client to deliver their project successfully.

I’ll try to see if that will be an option for the potential employer. They are in need of staffing asap so I dont know if they can wait a month.. I don’t want to lose the opportunity either if they can’t wait. Just crossing my fingers that all goes well!

Received an invite for a superday very quickly after applying to Goldman. Recruiter never sent me the zoom password and then the password failed to work so everything started a full 15 minutes late. Interviews went great including a “they’ll definitely be a second round” but then I received the rejection email the next day. Do we think the tech issues played into that significantly or just my interview not stacking up to other candidates?

I recently started (5/mo ago) at a new agency and everything is a 180 from my last role and I’m honestly getting discouraged. Everything from pitching style and media approach to the types of clients (I was told in the interview process I was going to be working with some clients but that has totally shifted) and I feel like my experience and expertise is both not valued and ideas shot-down at every turn.
