I am in the interview process for a full-time job. I had a great initial interview and am scheduled for a second— I think I have a good shot at getting it. I was also just offered an exciting contract that would be full time through June. It is not CtFT. I’d love to take it, but I don’t want to jeopardize the other position. Should I say no to the contract and just keep my fingers crossed regarding the other job? Should I discuss it with the company?

Received a job offer today and unsure how to proceed. The role is lateral but with more opportunity to advance. The offer consists of a 17% base salary increase, a 25% annual bonus structure, and a signing bonus of 25% of my base. I feel that the offer is fair but the downside is fewer vacation days. 529 NY question. I want to setup an account for my daughter. Planning to contribute $10K to maximize the tax deduction as a married couple.
(1) Should my wife and I setup two accounts for our daughter with $5K each? Or ok to setup a single account under one of our names?
(2) Understand $10K is below the annual gift tax but 529 is considered a gift. Is it good practise to document this in some shape/form? Like a one page doc that my wife and I sign stating we gifted to a 529 $10K in 2022.

Hi- I got two raises last year (one with promotion last December). I believe I am underpaid- partly for my own lack of speaking up and negotiating and not making the best career moves.

With current company 3+ years. People are great. Work could be better. 16 YOE. 72k for medcomms. Was told cost of living raise will be in my first 2023 paycheck. But like- I still have 6 months of living to do until then.

I had a really weird interview for Creative Director today.

It’s a small startup. HR interviewed me and asked all the hard hitting questions (how do you get design inspiration, how do you deal with design roadblocks, what sets you apart for this role?) which I thought was odd for a screening interview.

They made some affirmative noises then said the next step would be a design test (one pager) which I would present to a panel of interviewers including the CMO.
Anyone else think this is odd?
