Yes 100%, but for Adcoms, worth bringing in other reasons.
I’m applying to Oxford as the one school I think will give me the most personal development. So in my reason to “why MBA/Oxford”, I’m talking about 2 professional things that I want (their focus on community impact and their global exp) and 1 personal thing (the community/college system which is like Harry Potter houses).
I talked about specific skill gaps I have in achieving my long term goal.
My goal is to use business to inspire connections among people, and I’m best positioned to do that through a specific consumer product that I have expertise in. But to successfully grow this product, I’d need help understand new markets (b-schools have awesome global experiences), need help enhancing my leadership style to inspire change in my industry (many schools have classes for this) and then I throw in something specific about a school that only they specialize in (eg social impact at Oxford to understand the potential negatives of the product I want to sell)
No.
Yes!! I did so and 100% agree with McKinsey 1. I applied bc of personal development but wrote about professional goals.

What did you write about A1? I want to go for the same reason and don’t know what to put down sigh
There is no right or wrong reason to do anything. Most people do an MBA just to get credentialized and find better paying jobs and form high quality networks
I’m currently studying for the gmat for that reason. I read a book called the confidence gap which helped solidify my reasoning but I also realized I want to personally develop for another reason and as I dived deeper I realized it was because I wanted to change my career.
My reasoning was personal development like the post above mentions.
The book helped me with my fears and accept who I am and than have the confidence and motivation to pursue/commit to my goals. It just helped me get out of analysis paralysis really.
