I am interested in switching to Product Management for a tech company but not ready to jump ship yet. Currently I am a Advisory Senior Associate and have the opportunity to take on a Project Manager role at my current tech client. This is not where I want to take my career but I will do it if it may increase my chances of breaking into Product in near future. Would having such on my resume/gaining this experience help? What’s the most common career move after PM in tech?

I got an offer that I would love to take, it is a jump for me role wise (Tech Program Manager) at a big company . But that requires move to Seattle from Midwest. I was looking at the housing costs and it’s huge difference. can anyone convince me if moving to Seattle is best bet for career,kids and family if I can put up with the housing costs. Salary wise not a lot increased as I was already making good enough. But I need a role change as I am stuck at where I am for a long time.

I have an offer to join a startup as an APM. The only downside is that the engineering team is located offshore in India. I’m concerned about the resulting impact because of 1) the potential late night calls 2) the learning opportunities missed by not working with a US engineering team (communication tactics, translatable skills) 3) potential exit opps into FAANG pm roles due to not having experience with an onshore eng team. Would any one be able to speak to this from experience or share advice
