Hi everyone, I want to do a sense check on my paycheck and taxes.

I am a staff 2 in tech consulting at EY in Chicago with 1.5 YOE. Current base salary is $91.2k and with RACs etc I am right around $95k. I contribute $250/month to my 401k which EY matches. My total comp according to the Better Me dashboard is ~$105k

However, my take home each month after taxes is ~$2.4k. The ADP app tells me that 32.5% goes to taxes and my gross pay is 67.5%.

This just doesn’t seem right…anyone help explain?

Pretty much topped out at the current career level and in the process for a jump to MD. Not expecting that to entail a massive base pay rise but will make things more interesting in terms of equity. I started a new job working for a PE-backed company. I travel 2 nights for work and am able to expense dinners both nights. When I had asked my manager, the COO, about what a reasonable dinner expense is he said “I’m not worried about it”. However I want to be sure I’m not spending too much where it makes me look like a poor business operator. Since starting a month ago,I’ve been spending between 20-30 on carry out every night and have not been expensing tip. What is a reasonable expense amt?

Looking for career advice for a mentee who has two competing Internship offers as a sophomore from Google and Uber. Initially encouraged him to pick Google because of brand name, but the Uber offer pays an extra $10k over the summer and he supports himself through college so it is a material difference. Also from what I've heard, it's easier to get a return offer from Uber than Google's soph program.

I’m 37 and I didn’t get nominated for PCEC (mckinsey partner election). Should I give it another year knowing that it generally takes 2 election cycles and I won’t be a partner until I’m 39? Do I explore exits in a recessionary economy? Or praise Christ, go to church more, and suck up my ego because I still have a shot and haven’t been CTLd? How much worse are my exit ops as an AP and how would that look with 2 years later?
