Has anyone jumped from Big 4 Advisory to Tier 1 Consulting firms (e.g. MBB). Was the jump at the same, higher or lower level?
Have an opportunity to be a loaned staff for a company I find really interesting for 2 years. Should I be cautious of this? Seems like a good opportunity but I’d likely miss out on the typical career progression of a big 4 firm
Boutique consulting firm vs Big 4, thinking of making the switch to get more structured support and learning... any thoughts? Attrition is rlly high at my firm and project deadlines have been delayed due to resource issues
I came across a post boasting about perks in big4 vs park in Witch companies, here are my input 1. I started my career with big4. Although it gave a lots of perk to keep you grounded or get you in comfort zone some major cons were A. Out dated technology stack B. No work life balance C. This big 4 always carry tapes to measure your performance. 2. I recently joined a witch company and here are my inputs A. Latest tech stakes but slow pace of work B. No long working hours (gov job)
Those of you that left Big 4...how long did it take you to find another job? I physically can’t take this place anymore and thinking about giving my two weeks tomorrow. I can live off savings for a co
How can I learn more about the work and day to day expectations of FDD Advisory? Looking for resources to educate myself in the service line as well as advice. I’m an S1 in audit in the PNW at a Top 15 firm but looking to move to NYC and make a switch to FDD either to Big 4 or another large firm by the end of the year
I am looking for some advice or opinions to apply for consulting jobs right now. I currently work at a mid-sized/regional firm, but plan move to a different city later this year. I have ~4 yr xp working on system implementations, IT policies/controls, and BPO, but my undergrad GPA wasn't the best (I did become a CPA and CISA though). Should I try to apply to big 3/big 4? Stay mid-sized? Get an MBA or Masters? Move and pray? Thanks in advanced for any comments!
How much experience do you need to be seriously considered for jobs that ask for “5 years” experience? I have 1.5 years of Big 4 experience. Do you typically include the 2-3 years of college (basic bookkeeping) level accounting jobs / internships as experience as well? (Including college part time accounting jobs gets me closer to 4-5 years experience - just not sure if that’s generally viewed as “valid” experience)
I did an internship with a boutique consulting firm that got extended for a full year while I was in school full time as well. On top of that I have 16 months of experience in my B4/T2 consulting firm, and I have a ton of other experience on top of that interning at banks and startups. TLDR; I have 3+ years of experience, 1 year at a small consulting shop and 1.5 years at B4 upon graduation. Is it true that none of this experience really counts?
senior in audit - received offer from GT for manager position, and went to talk to my partners (im in big 4) partners matched salary and offered manager (i was supposed to make mgr next yr). (cont'd)
Would you leave big-4 for a promotion to "Managing Director" role and a 30-50% salary raise at a Small to Midsize Consulting Firm?
Been here several years. Only just clicked to me how predatory Big 4 are. Business model is to use cheap, underpaid labor from college grads who can't go elsewhere or pay debts. Churn em and burn em.
What is a decent salary for an advisory consultant in the DMV/Washington DC area? Wondering how my offer stacks up, have 2 years of prior B4 audit experience
Current S1 here. Is it okay if my resume experience is just: B4 Internship > Associate > Senior? (All in the same firm/practice) Never done other internships. The only other thing I could include is a student assistant job I had in college. Not sure if that's even relevant. Guess just the progression at this 1 firm is enough? Just looks a bit incomplete on the resume.
How does the new rule impact on amendment? Big 4 has promotion typically every year and which require amendments. Do you think this will effect current H1 holder?
Anyone with insights on jumping from big 4 to tech product management roles.. what was your role at big 4 when you did and how was the interview process
Has anyone moved from audit to recruiting within the big 4? How did you do it? How is the job?
Big 4 to tech startup AMA!
Plan on moving to Dallas Texas next year. Currently with Deloitte MTS team and will be a senior at that time. Im wondering how the culture of the office is there? Also, how is the culture of the other firms. Im not opposed to moving firms. Just finished working three 80 hour weeks, so that would be a big plus to find a team where that is not expected on a regular basis!
I have a GRE from a few years ago equivalent to a 750 GMAT. Quant is the only section where I lost points. At this point, is it worth attempting a marginally higher score on the GMAT, esp quant?
Any recommendations for easy to implement compliance related training - specifically looking for manager harassment training that satisfies California requirements. Thanks!!

Anyone get promoted mid year After receiving the bonus/review? (No pay increase for the promotion)
Which agencies do the most animal health?
Why y’all make fun of Slalom? They outbid my Deloitte and Accenture offers AND they’re known for a culture of respect it seems?

For firms that are announcing year end special bonuses (and that have billable requirements for the bonuses) - are you required to hit the billable threshold to receive both the regular and special bonus? Or is the special bonus paid out to all regardless of hours?
Considering pursuing FRM certification. Currently in FS and don’t have a background in business/finance (studied Econ). Would FRM help bridge the subject matter knowledge gap?
6th year L&E associate here and thinking about transitioning to a position with better WLB. How do you go about getting a government job and are they flexible about WFH, at least a couple of days a week? Recruiters reach out all the time, but always about other firm positions. Tips/ advice much appreciated!
If you’re a campus hire, what made you choose deloitte over other firms/b4 firms assuming you had other offers? You don’t get a bonus until you hit senior and tiny raises. I don’t think many other firms/big 4 do that right?
Wondering if anyone had moved to consulting from PhD? Any challenges you foresee in filing green card under EB1A independently. My company is not willing to file for green card at this stage. Any recommendations on lawyers?
Applying to T15 in R2. Currently have a 700 GMAT (43Q, 41V) after taking once. Even if I raise my quant to 47, which would be impressive for me, I’ll still be at a 700 (possibly 710). 3.6 undergrad GPA. Worth retaking? Or just focus on the rest of my applications?
Have a call on Friday with the CEO of an environmental entrepreneurship non-profit. It could lead to a professional opportunity and maybe even billable work I can refer to my firm down the line. I’m going in with an open mind but little concrete information on his entity and goals and ways I could get involved. What questions would you ask such a person?
