Have a solid, respectful conversation with your service line PMDs. Truth be told, they have very little reason to not like it unless you’re going to a direct competitor. And even then, I’ve seen people jump back to their original firm. So I feel burning bridges is something you really have to try to do in this case. People leave all the time.
Worrying is one of my top 5 skills! Not a direct competitor but in the same area (helping a 2d print company move to the 3d space and helping their customers transform their supply chains). The main bridge I am concerned about burning is that my current project SM is also my coach and he get me on it in part as a lifeboat just a few weeks ago. I had good util and snapshots but he for added an extra layer of protection. Dont want to make it seem like i am rejecting him. actually quite happy smooth Uncle D but this opp is very interesting.
Maybe a better question is what can I do during an exit to strengthen connections?
