How easy is it to transition from a IT role (Operations manager / regional support manager) to a technical company role? I feel like the higher paying tech companies such a role is done by people with 10,15 ,etc years of experience and other roles would be a step back

Interviewed for an in house role about two week ago. Thought it went pretty well—focus was much more on fit than ability. During the interview the GC said he was hoping to move things along after the new year. I sent a thank you email shortly after the interview and heard nothing. Should I follow up again to show initiative? Is that overkill?

So I am a TA, filling 20-30 call center roles per month, on top of taking over some HR responsibilities until we fill our HR Manager roll..so I stay pretty busy, working 40-50 hours per week.
