Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? Is joining a startup as the second lawyer under a head of legal (rather than a GC) a risky career move? Currently a mid-level at a biglaw firm and have been told my long term prospects are very good if I stick around. The startup seems like a good opportunity, but worried a GC being hired in above the head of legal would make my position much less favorable.

TC would also be lower at the startup, though the company is well funded and seems likely to have an exit of some kind.

Has anyone successfully transitioned out of public sector and into private? I’m finding it rather hard without having business experience and I don’t think employers are as interested in my public sector background as I thought.

Hi All, My current employer is filing i140 which should be approved in 15 days with premium processing. However, I intend to change employer after it. It says that one should wait for at least 180 days once I 140 is approved. What happens if I change employer after 180 days and still my current employer revokes my approved I 140 ? Is this possible? What I should do in that case?
