What does everyone think of the current Austin housing market? Looks like prices are finally starting to come down a good bit (not that that means much in terms of monthly payments bc of interest rates). Do we think we’ll see a steady decline going into 2023? If you didn't save in advance for kids' college and need to pay out of pocket, would you run it through a 529 that year in the form of a contribution and then immediate expenditure?

This seems like everyone should do it but I don't hear about this happening? Is that because a lot of out of pocket is funded by student loans instead?

Hello,

Need advice from those who left SAP recently or leaving soon.

Did you sell all your SAP shares. Its sad that the value is at multi-year low and we are made to sell at a loss :(... Is there any cheaper option to keep it for some more years in our personal account. Did any of you got it transferred at any Indian brokerage firm? Please do let me know.

Thanks

Does anyone have any recommendations on signing up for tax alerts? If I take a job in industry, I'm worried there won't be any research tools available to me, so I'd like to get tax alerts. Mostly state, because federal changes are pretty easy to follow. Do I need to signup for alerts from each state, or is there some other way?

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼

Should i switch to tech and start learning coding?

Great question! And without getting too much into monetary policy.... Fed rates are set by the Federal Reserve which banks use to charge each other to borrow money. A lot of times these rates move together, however, a Fed rate increase does not instantaneously change the rates the bank offers.
