What? That’s just silly. Don’t do unpaid work EVER, let alone if you already have work experience even if it’s in a different industry. Every experience comes with transferable skills so don’t sell yourself short. Find out what makes you a desirable candidate and approach employers from that perspective, and for gods sake do get paid! If you’re worried about not having a portfolio then do few spec projects and use that.

Check out tech fleet It’s unpaid but I’ve been watching the slack group and you work with other designers and PM’s on real clients (usually non profits) for 8 weeks. Haven’t tried it because I landed a job before I could but it seems like a good group of people.

Why would you do that? Unpaid is nonsense. There's a lot pf people who know less asking for 80k.
