What is everyone seeing in terms of remote/flex work vs coming back to the office? I hear some of the majors are making flex permanent while others are 100% in the office.
Those of you who have changed jobs over the pandemic and your new office is in a state different from where you live (since wfh) - which state’s taxes do you pay? Where you live or where office is?
What training or guidance are you giving managers at your firms about managing hybrid teams? There is a lot out there on remote teams, but a lot of us are going back three days a week which means people at home and people in the room. Any tips to pass on?
Should I put in my two weeks’ notice on Thursday in person, or on Friday when everyone’s WFH and probably in better moods?
Will larger sized companies return to the office in 2020? I’m just thinking logistically it doesn’t make much sense to bring thousands of employees back for a few months just to be sent to WFH again during a 2nd wave?
Is it true that Bain and BCG have implemented recommended WFH for high risk NA cities such as New York?
WFH Tech Issues & Superiors- Has anyone had superiors who have multiple, persistent tech issues working from home, from headset connections on calls to video conferences that have to be paused and restarted? He’s talked to tech support a few times, but I’m unsure what I can/should do to help and feel awkward on calls with clients/co-counsel, repeatedly waiting to start/restart meetings. Senior attorneys’ input is definitely appreciated, particularly what’s helpful vs. overstepping.
Since we’ve all been working from home for months now, what’s the best office chair out that y’all are using for our long work from home hours? Looking to invest in a better one than my ~$150 one from Amazon.
Many agencies are now coming out to boast about how productive they are WFH. Will they contradict themselves by getting everyone back to the office post pandemic?
Our school is in 100% Remote learning right now. I have a kindergarten student whose goals are: Participating during circle time, completing a task before transitioning, and to play with his peers during unstructured play time. How can I support him during remote learning. Any ideas as to what I can send home? Thanks in advance!
Pregnant. Due in June. Mom, hubby, & myself are all WFH techies. Dad is retired. Happy strong relationships in my family. Hubby's parents are international and will come all next year to stay and help. Option to stay here in SF, in our 2bed1bath, give birth and have parents visit for the delivery for a month to help out. Or move in to my parents large suburban 5bed6bath house for 6 months so I can deliver, recover and WFH in Q4. Manage care without a nanny for 2021. What would you do?
Starting a new job this week and onboarding virtually. Would love to hear best practices and tips for making the remote transition/onboarding smooth from those who feel they have done it with success recently.
How are your companies handling employees wanting to work from anywhere (any US state) now that the remote situation is still ongoing (with no end in some cities)? Are you allowing it for a certain amount of days/months? It’s been the bane of my work existence lately!
EY consultants will be wfh at least until Apr 15.
What time do you get to the office on Saturday vs everyone else? When I was at PwC it was all early birds (7am) and out by 2. BDO seems it’s all in after 9, still out by 2, and work from home later.
🚨JOB ALERT🚨 I'm hiring for a webinar coordinator if anyone happens to know any junior folks hungry for something new! Award winning culture, fully remote optional 👍 https://tinuiti.com/jobs/?gh_jid=2459707
How’s the flexibility Moss Adams? More specifically, how’s the flexibility at the Santa Rosa office, tax practice? I like to work from home every other Friday.
Is it worth intentionally taking a job with no growth/upward mobility but straight 40 hour weeks and pay raise to essentially take a break? I'm extremely burnt out from working 50-55+ hour weeks since March during wfh and am seriously considering this other job to get my life back for a year and then start looking for a high growth position if/when the uncertain job market settles down.
How much does school choice matter later in ones career? Assuming you can enter the same role (MBB, etc.) at each, will a better ranked/recognized school have much impact on further career outcomes? As we make decisions, I'm trying to figure out how much it will impact career trajectory after the first role. I know the network is important, but how much does that matter? As well as the other considerations. Specifically asking about the various levels of t-15.
End of July. started training on campus, everyone in masks. (Teachers struggled with proper mask etiquette!) Students start remotely on August 18 for three weeks. Afterwards, depending on COVID-19 numbers we may go to a hybrid track system, Max 10 to a class, 6 weeks in person, 2 weeks at home, with some opting to continue remotely! 62 with 5 underlying conditions I’m blessed to be able to teach remotely! NEED GOOD STRATEGIES AND COMPLIANCE UPDATES FOR MY SPED CASES!
EGC fish: anyone willing to chat about some of the work you do with academic medical centers? I came across a posting but would like to learn more.
I would honestly pay fishbowl money if they would let me filter out all these dumb MBB(other firm) posts going on today
Any insights on QE international arbitration? I’m particularly interested in culture and workplace environment. Thanks!
Fellow European, tough question for you. With unclear future career plan, from MBB would you join INSEAD as a non sponsored consultant ?
I've been asked to do a comprehensive marketing analysis for a client but really don't know what to charge. I prefer to charge a project fee over an hourly fee. As a project, what would you charge?
Current firm is decent in terms of pay, practice area, hours, and advancement opportunities. Interviewing with a government agency—more interesting practice and a little bit of a pay cut. Yes or no?
Launching large transformation for client who brought on solo body shop PM for some execution. Asked us to coordinate. Spend more time than if we did his work ourselves. How to address? See more w/in
Sometimes I feel like I should do an MBA. Sometimes I feel it’s not necessary. I am on deck for SM. Any suggestions?
I want to dispose my office chair and i live in Newton. Anyone knows if i can leave it curbside or where i can check for the details?
I’m in tech consulting but truly a generalist since I’ve been on a wide array of projects and IMO I have no discernible skills. I want to find a different job soon. I’m sick of consulting and the asshole clients - but I feel like I have no options! I hear I can go industry, but I’m not sure what that would look like for me. Anyone made a career move out of consulting? Tips? What did/does it look like for you?
Any tips on free places to post jobs for Mental Health Professionals/Counselors? Or sites that cost but have been successful for you? We already use Indeed and LinkedIn
I don’t want to be my friend’s bridesmaid because her husband (legally married already because of covid) is a mediocre leech but she’s my best friend from middle school 😩
