I love my Brietling! I could have gotten a Rolex DJ but honestly was kinda bored by most of the models that were available. My budget was $8-10K but I spent 5K. I love it and wear it daily. Buy what YOU like. Not what anyone else likes. I love this one because she’s: waterproof, sparkly, and has a jubilee band and rose gold bats and small diamonds which are just blingy enough. Have been wearing it snorkeling and swimming all week on vacation.
Beautiful! Thanks for the post and sharing the details, it looks great on you!
I also agree that buying as an investment is a bad idea.
Congrats on your promotion!

Also, the watch market is ultimately illogical. There’s no fundamentals to invest in.
Cartier tank 👌
Tank Must, starting @ 2021 (previously called the Tank Solo).

That’s quite the budget for your first luxury watch. You can get something you’ll love forever for a little more than a quarter of that. Unless you want gold. And Cartier gold is 🤌.
Congratulations on your milestone! 👸🏽 here with a small (but quickly growing!) collection. I’m going to echo the others: buy the watch you love. And don’t feel like you have to stick to womens models. It’s really the sizing that matters. Depending on the size of your wrist, 36mm and below will give you the most traditional look, while 36 - 40 is a bit of an oversized look. I’m shameless and will wear anything under 42 😊
I’d also echo others to go try a bunch of brands and see what speaks to you. Do you want something a bit sporty? Or do you prefer a bit dressier? Do you want something understated or a statement piece? Those will impact the recommendations.
For Rolex models specifically, I really appreciate the Yachtmaster for its mix of sporty and dress. I believe it’s available in 36mm and rose gold and steel models. The Datejust is also a classic. Be warned that Rolex models are startlingly difficult to purchase at retail today.
For other brands, I’d echo recommendations to consider Cartier and JLC. Options in both will lean dressier and punch above their weight. Would also recommend Blancpain, which has the 50 Fathoms (believe it’s 38 or 40 but can’t remember) for something a bit sportier. They also have some dressier options. I’m also a big fan of what Grand Seiko is putting out, though they wear a bit larger than expected for me.
I love my Omega Speedmaster, and there are some interesting options in that brand, but with 20k budget, I would look elsewhere. IWC has the Pilots 36, which is a looker, but I have some hesitations about the movement.
Hope this helps! Definitely drop a line if you have other questions, and let us know what you decide!
Go try stuff on. I thought I wanted a 31 DJ. Went to try on and quickly realized the 31 was too small. Also realized yellow gold with diamond bezel was too flashy for me. Ultimately went with something else because I didn’t have a nice experience at the Rolex boutiques.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso - Duetto if you like the smaller, skinnier watches. Reverso Classique or Tribute in Medium.

JLC reverso or a Cartier Tank Louis.
First, congrats! I’ll reuse a meme that I pulled out a few days ago on another post, we don’t look at watches from the investment perspective, get what YOU like! Now regarding brands, I think going from $0 to $20k is really aggressive, if you don’t know the styles that is really resonating with you then you could have some serious and valid buyers remorse afterwards. I’d recommend taking time to go into stores try on some Cartiers, Tudors, JLC, IWC, Rolexes (if you live in a city with an AD who has display models). My wife’s ultimate watch is a Cartier Américaine gold (~$11k).
Whoops, forgot to attach the meme. But when it comes to talking about watches as ‘investments’…
If I could - I would. 🌹⚜️

Depends on what size you like on your wrist, and what type of bracelets you like, how much bling, how jewelry like, etc.
I’d recommend starting your search by trying on stainless datejusts with a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelets in size 28mm and 31mm.
I would personally buy the hublot classic fusion or the Big Bang. friend has the Big Bang and looks amazing. Good luck!

Don't follow size suggestions. It's really going to matter how it rides your wrist.
And don't get locked in to the 'lady size' mindset either. Browse, try on different things, a good jeweler won't complain, and then pick something you like.
If you prefer something more petite, check out the Cle de Cartier, some beautiful blended lugs and is not your expected Santos, Tank or Ballon Bleu
Definitely go try on and explore the feel and style. They all feel different. One might call to you based on what you’re looking for that you weren’t expecting. Congratulations
JLC Rendez vous is an elegant choice well below 20k. Check out Blancpain too!
