I'I'm trying to get into compliance away for a client facing role

funny

More of a compliance analyst position to start of with. I think it's mostly because I've outgrown the role.

Business risk and control roles in the first line of defense would be a good place to start for those looking to move from compliance to first line.

Issue with going into a 1st line business risk function is that the context of your relationship to management can make it inappropriate to try to move into a client facing role directly, though I’ve seen it happen. Many end up moving into a COO role focusing on managing the business work created by the 1st line risk function.

Do you know any where that is hiring?

Any Financial Service firm is usually hiring depending on experience

OP will you be able to share if you are in consulting or second line?

No prob! All the best in your pivoting!

We recently hired a big bank compliance person who was fully licensed for a hybrid situation… to shore up our operations and also service our smaller clients. Working out ok but doesn’t understand that as a business owner we access our risks and decide what to do. An 11 person company isn’t going to do what a big bank does. Clients are happy as they are getting extra service and attention.

Role equivalent at both : Junior associate for Mck and Senior associate for BCG. Both 1+ yrs below MBA equivalent level Tilting from BCG to Mck.
