I am looking to enter big law. I had a clerkship on a state Business Calendar and am a current first year litigation associate where I have prepared for a trial, taken and defended depositions, and have extensive motion writing practice in tech, business, and employment cases. Is it a waste of time to try and make a move to big law with such few years of experience?

So I’m thinking of taking a pharmacy tech course at my local community college. I already work in healthcare on the admin side (authorizations, front desk etc) & looking to get a certification that’s quick & don’t have to go back to school. How is it being a tech in the hospital setting? What other paths are there for techs? How much can you make? Or are there any other short certifications that would make more money?

Hello people of San Diego! Would love to hear how y’all are affording to live here comfortably. Please state your company, position, TC, YOE, and do you have a side hustle? I’d like to “make it” here but if it means switching career to make money I’d like to get an idea to make the right job change.

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

How should I react to a super disrespectful manager? She had a meeting today and google meet stopped working. Instead of thinking: oh a technical problem occurred she started blaming me saying that I should have created a corrected link. When I told her that was quite impossible her answer was: I forgot you are miss I am never wrong Linksare autogenerated by google meet, if I was able to “create” links and codes I would not have been her assistant but already in the valley making tons of money.

I joined a company very recently as a marketing director. We hired an agency to help with everything from branding to paid media and website optimization. We paused rebrand work because it was directionless. For paid media there wasn’t a brief, so I had my team put one together for the agency and we were very prescriptive with what we were looking for. The agency didn’t deliver and I’ve reached the conclusion they’re not a good fit for us. I’ve never cut ties with an agency. Any advice??

Urgent since I have to make a decision by today. I have two offers: one is general real estate (a variety of work) and the other is focused on real estate finance. I’m a 5th yr considering lateraling from a V30 to a V100 to increase chances at partnership. The v100 makes a fair amount of partners in my practice and I would assess my chances at making equity partner there to be relatively good for BL. At the V30 equity partnership odds seem much lower, but my reviews have been good. The V30 has >$2mm per year higher PPP, higher chambers ranking and better exit ops generally.

Any advice as to how to decide on the offer? What else should I consider?

I started at a v100 firm in NY 6 months ago from a regional firm in the transactions group. Since work has been slow I haven’t had too many opportunities to do good work for partners but I feel I have when given the chance.

However, one partner who is notoriously difficult has given me a number of assignments and is an extreme micromanager and know it all. Now when I get an email from him my stomach drops as nothing positive ever comes out of it. Does anyone have advice on coping with this?

The obvious biggest risk is my firm fires me and the new firm, for whatever reason, pulls the offer. Anything else I’m not considering?

I’ve always been told that I operate above my class year but this has been frustrating and I feel like I’m regressing. Anyone else experience this?
