Currently at ADP, been here for 4 years, degree in Pre-Med Biology. Have both Inside and Outside Sales experience partnering with CPA firms/current clients/prospects for about 4 years and starting a new channel with DEI Organizations/Networking Groups for B2B. ADP has a great comp plan but my base is 48K and even with the commission I feel like I’m getting taken advantage of/not getting what I’m worth. After 4 years, I feel it’s time to move on. Any advice or thoughts on this?

Since starting at this company in January 2022, they’ve increased my base pay from 75k to 85k. Moved me in a desirable territory to maximize sales. allowed me to speak and train reps for what has been working. Given me the freedom to work strategies that work for me.
I absolutely love this company so far. I know my worth is higher than 85k base but sheesh. The way they value me and treat their employees right. Maybe it’s worth the lesser pay?

Do you have any experience in sales? If not, that's a good place to start. Also, networking is always a good idea.
Look at the shelves that are selling products at your store currently, so many pharma companies. Pick out companies that fit your moral compass. I’m sure it’s not easy to get into and from what over heard very demanding. But networking and building a name for yourself is probably the best way to get an in.
Firstly question yourself and understand why you want to get into sales - fundamentals are the most important
I worked as a bartender for years and I love talking to people and upselling anything in the restaurant. I had an interview with a pharma company where I went through 5 rounds of interviews but did not land the job. I loved interviewing and selling myself to the managers. It felt like something I would be truly happy doing and be passionate about
