CTR, contracts and department overhaul
our marketing dept is undergoing a complete overhaul. under old leadership, a $75k 12-mo contract was signed to a marketing group that handles our SEO, blog and everything Google Ads. All things I can and am in training to do. Current CTRs on G ads seem pitiful at no more than 0.75%. My meta ads coast around 4-6%. During this overhaul, would it be wise to not renew our contract, and negotiate for me to take over these roles and leverage a raise?
Dont forget code. Learn python and from there HTML is easy. It is really helpful to know code to setup tracking and automations. I went to a code school for 15 weeks. 8 weels covering everything with homework etc and 7 weeks of code application in specifically marketing. Highly recommend
Thank you! What is the name of the program?
The best training is doing. Find ways to go try it. Launch campaigns on google, bing, Facebook, and Instagram. Build an email campaign using hubspot or mailchimp or constant contact. Find ways to go try it out.
I’ve done Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula, Hubspot’s free inbound marketing courses and have learned so much from Copyhacker’s material and courses. I feel that mix, coupled with ‘doing’ could put you in a really solid place.
Learn Google Tag Manager.
It's really powerful to be able to understand what a client actually wants, translate that to measurable conversions/microconversions, implement them yourself, and then turn on all the AI in these platforms.
Digital is a very broad field. You should start breaking it down and see what aspect of it you want to focus on. Is it campaign/performance management, Content Strategy, Brand Management, SEO or something else in specific. I suggest you take a broad course on Udemy, don't spend much on it. Get a basic understanding of what you relate to the best, get a holistic picture and then do courses that are tailored towards specialization. Will make so much more sense that way. Cheers.
I simply wanted to drop in a comment and let you all know how helpful this post was! Thank you!!
