I am moving from USDC Lake Mary to Gilbert early next year. I am looking to buy a home there within few months of moving there. Things I am looking for are a good school district (kid will start school next year) and possibly some Indian population. Any recommendations?

Chandler is great. Gilbert has come a loong way in the last few years and is a great place for a family. Honestly even Queen Creek is becoming a lot less remote than it has been in the past. Housing prices in the general Gilbert/chandler area have been super high (like everywhere else I’m sure) due to the influx of people though.

Gilbert is a kind of remote place. Chandler is the closest town to the USDC. It has a good schools around. Indian population will be more in scottsdale which is from AMEX.

I wouldn't call Gilbert "remote." Some parts of it are further out, like toward the east, but even then it is being slowly built up.

Chandler is a solid city. Ahwatukee is the best in the area but it’s a little farther and more expensive.

Both Chandler and Gilbert have great schools and are safe places to raise a family. Chandler over Gilbert for Indian population but both are growing diversity wise.

So my wife basically said she doesn’t want to have sex anymore. Don’t want to do anything about it. After couple kids, doesn’t feel it anymore. Also said it wasn’t anything I did and there’s no one else. I understand women’s body changes after child birth but can’t help thinking it’s gonna suck being in a sexless marriage. We’re still attractive and haven’t turned into couch potatoes…yet Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey there Women of Fishbowl. Having a rough Thanksgiving here. I recently lateraled to a big firm as a corporate associate and have been inundated with work. I like my job and am really happy to have made it this far. Unfortunately my mother doesn't see it that way. Every time I see her she comments about how I need to find a husband so I can quit my job and take pleasure in domestic life. I have no issues with that except that I feel like she's looking at all my prior hard work as being...

When is the earliest you’d suggest taking a pregnancy test? Took one and got a negative result 9 days post ovulation but have read you should wait at least 10-12 days post ovulation? If so - why do tests claim “6 days before missed period?” Tryna have a pre-busy season baby problems 😂! Thanks in advance!

First time mom-to-be here, just found out I’m pregnant. Feels like there are a thousand things to do/think about and I know we have time, but not sure how to prioritize. What did you do first, and/or what do you wish you’d done in your early stages of pregnancy to prepare? Feeling pretty good at the moment (fingers crossed that keeps up!) so have the energy to get things done.

I have a cousin who occasionally asks me to watch their baby while she and her husband go out. I’m very happy to do it and it doesn’t happen often but she always attempts to pay me / buy me a gift as a thank you. I always refuse the money but she’s started sending me gift cards. I was thinking of just using the gift cards to buy something for the baby and giving it back to her but is that weird / rude?

I am really tired and I think I’m burning out. I love my job, my account, and my team (for the most part). Working from home with 2 kids didn’t really hit me until I had to start picking up slack at work. I had found a good balance. But now I find I’m short with my older kid, house chores have gone undone, or work suffers. I had a review recently and I’m well received but the window for a raise or promotion has passed and they will look into it during the next open window (continued)

My father apptly invited my cousin to thanksgiving. The cousin who took my baby name bc she “wasn’t sure it would get used given ‘my situation” and “wanted to make sure it got used since it’s such a beautiful name.” So I guess I’m having dinner across from a 7 month old baby with my dream baby’s name. Super weird to resent an infant on thanksgiving, but that’s where we are..

Happy holidays! What kind of craziness is everyone putting up with this year? I’ll start — my MIL told me my daughter scowls too much and that she needs “baby Botox”, and my sister just announced that she’s bringing the husband she’s been separated from (and that no one has spoken to) for 2yrs. Can’t wait! 😅

I’m a fourth-year associate who just got an offer to go in house. My experience is in litigation but I’d be working on more corporate matters, which scares me. But I hate billables and firm culture and the in-house company is a huge company where you can make moves in once you’re there. My salary would be the same but I’d get better benefits and bonus opportunities in house. Plus I’m a mom and will have on-site childcare. Should I be scared that switching from litigation will be boring?
