Forgot to add that there are 3 series. Language for Learning is for very basic, younger levels. There is also Language for Thinking and Language for Writing. Both of those would be better for older kids.
I’ve used language for learning/thinking/writing too. It a direct instruction/scripted program. It doesn’t really integrate with classroom instruction, but I kind of like that. It focuses on building vocabulary and the variety of sentence structures students can understand and use.
