I am new to US and working on visa. I have read some details about HSA and as per my understanding HSA can only be used towards medical treatment to help high deductible cost. If I don't visit dr very often and considering I am in US for next 2-3 years. Does it make sense to spend into HSA?

The thing is, if you move out of the U.S., that money can’t be used.

I’m the one whose ex won’t pay for college - and I have an update. My ex texted me today that he and his wife are buying our son a car (!!) for Christmas. On the one hand, it’s one less expense for me. On the other hand, my ex won’t pay for college and he owes me at least $10K for previous medical expenses, but he can find money for a car - which is a “fun” expense that will get him brownie points with our son. Whatever - my son benefits, but talk about a “Disneyland Dad.” Ugh.

The trusts and estates bowl is not very active, so thought I’d post here. We are in the middle of updating our will/trust. We don’t have any close family that could take care of our kids if we died. Our closest friend lives in Brazil. We would love to have her take care of the kids - but don’t know if there is any way around immigration laws to have that happen if she were willing to move to US. My Google searches haven’t turned up an answer.
