Two amazingly talented 40 and 50 year old women crushed it. Maybe celebrate that instead of trying to turn it negative.
Why can’t a 50 year old woman bring it?? Powerful females on stage tonight.
Shakira and JLo actually had a ton of Latinx/AfroLatinx/Middle Eastern influences that represented their culture in their performances (I.e. Champeta, the instruments: derbake & mijwiz, zaghrouta, etc)
Relegating it to “ass slapping” is ignorant of the hard work and detail that both of them put into this performance.
I forgot to add, good luck trying to say “Latinx” in Brazilian Portuguese. “Latin-shish?” Even if you went by straight pronunciation, the rules of Portuguese would make it sound like “Latinsh.”

I loved it. I’m female and close to 50 and thought what great entertainment they both brought. Plus sexy as shit. I appreciate they didn’t have a 20 year old up there with no depth just shaking their asses.

I am more tired of people not understanding Latin American culture. Latina women can be self-confident, powerful AND openly express their sexuality, a combination that seems to confuse some people.
But the person who made this comment is a CCO at a major advertising agency. Which explains the lack of Latinx creatives there?

I’m a 34 year-old woman and I LOVED it! They are so freaking inspirational! I pray to have their level of energy in my 40s and 50s.
So many Latinos were shut out of the ad industry when so-called General Market ad agencies claimed they could do “total market” advertising, which resulted in legions of professionals losing their jobs while a handful got hired sporadically as part-time copywriters instead. So it’s disheartening when adland’s leaders, in an industry perfectly OK with closing out and off Latino voices, actively prefer Latinas to remain quiet, meek, “polite”, unseen and unheard. It hints at being uncomfortable with Latino culture at all.
*That are in strategy, creative or account. Not in the mail room or office ops. And not Cannes Lion winners flown in from Brazil (no offense to my Brazilian friends).
