I am not in my permanent residence (at vaca home) and my team knows that. However, I have upcoming interviews. How do I make this work without my team knowing?

Why make excuses? Just say you have a personal commitment and don’t explain. I find it shocking that so many people feel the need to share so much info.

like

WFH actually makes this easier. Why can’t normal excuses work? Cars still break down and dr appointments still happen even if you’re at a different location

like

More context: For example, I can’t do the typical “Doctors appointment”, “car at the shop”, etc excuses to fake the interview

like

Just put private appointments on your calendar

like

LOL definitely agree with the vague usage of “appointments”

like

How would they even know you’re out? Are you constantly talking to them online? Covid has made this a lot more manageable from what I’ve seen. I’d schedule placeholders on your calendar and show you’re busy at that time and likely also show do not disturb on your chat systems

like

Vaccine appointment lol

smart

PTO and “appointments”

I honestly would just book an appointment at that time so it shows that you’re busy in outlook and if you get any conflicts, just let the internal team know that you can’t make it.

Simple and you don’t have to explain anything.

I put “call” on my calendar

I just put “personal meeting” and no one ever questions me about it.

For those of you who are in Facebook and Google, I have a few questions..
1. Do you like it there?
2. How long did it take you to get there?
3. How many YoE would you suggest to wait before applying to either? (I have been in the workforce for 1y 2m and from some other bowls it sounds like I’d be aligned with technical customer experience/support but that’s not what I’d be limited to doing. I know my coding skills are not strong enough to go an engineering route.)
