I am not on an agile project, but I am learning more about it and very interested in how I can apply to my everyday work. Any easy ideas as to how to incorporate agile into my normal way of working?

So imagine there’s no plan and everyday you make it up. And what you said yesterday doesn’t matter. That’s agile

likefunny

Are you listening PwC? scaled agile on a gigantic project is a cf

If you want to do it the way our clients do it, just do the exact same thing as before but use words like sprint and scrum a bunch

likefunny

You can’t do agile alone.

I know I can’t do it alone, but I am sure there are changes that I can make to the way I do things that create an environment that is better for agile collaboration. The reality is I am always on waterfall type projects, and feel like there has to be a better way of working.

BCG1 is SOOO right

Just half ass things and say it’s minimum viable with continuous improvement

Make a kanban board with all ur tasks in trello. Use it to manage ur work

I could definitely give that a try

Plan for short periods of time, constantly prioritize and focus on what brings you the most business value first, make sure the person who owns the backlog is empowered to make decisions, don’t forget retrospectives. Trust, transparency, communication...

IBM has a ton of great resources for this! Post this over in the IBM bowl and I’m sure you’ll be pointed in the right direction :)

I’ve been going through the agile@ibm trainings, but I am looking for more tactical recs

BCG1 is wrong. In the tech world of things we do have a plan, with proper execution it gets followed. Some people suck at implementation and then end up blaming the methodology.

Have a daily standup with your team

B4 and MBB have no idea when to assess for appropriateness of using agile or how to apply it. Most of our contracts are not suitable for agile but use it anyways then screw it up

I switched from audit to consulting, and I thought I’d enjoy my job since I’m no longer ticking the box.. doing something that’s more challenging (what people said lol) .. helping the client etc etc but honestly the job seems pretty much the same. I still work on meaningless BS stuff. Is it because I’m not in ‘real’ (strategy) consulting? I do process improvement / CFO advisory. Or are all corporate jobs pretty much the same other than the pay / wlb (which is def. better)
