Do you live somewhere cold? I’ve been learning to make leather/fur items. Have done moccasins and just finishing beaver fur mitts. All designed and stitched by hand.

Yep! A leather-specific needle and some good protection on the fingers (Even then you’ll stab yourself). We bought sinew for thread as well for durability. Bill worby furs in Manitoba does online ordering and we looked at a place in Quebec but haven’t bought any there yet. At least 1.5 large-super jumbo pelts are needed for one set of mitts. Otherwise we just used YouTube and some online reading for patterns and tips.

You should finish your bathroom. Why is one wall just wood and all other 3 is just egg shell white paint.

All wood would be weird. Never said it needs to be all wood, but the white doesn’t contrast well. Consider changing the white for a warm color.

Awesome! I'm also waist deep in DIY home projects with total bathroom gut and rehab starting in March. If you're looking for a new activity, I'd say try to start learning golf. I've been dabbling for a couple years and it's certainly a challenge 😄

Is it? It seems so boring though 🥺

Lol to the person who posted the picture comparing hairdressers resuming work to people illegally crossing the border. Comparing COVID to the Flu is ludicrous and apples to oranges but comparing breaking a law to violating a mandate (although in their example Texas is open) isn’t apples and oranges when it fits their narrative apparently 🤨

My brother is a mechanic with 10+ years experience but was laid off due to COVID. He's having a hard time even finding jobs to apply for and asked me for advice. I don't even know what someone can do without a degree. He has valuable hard skills but I just don't think there's a demand in NYC right now. Should I advise him to go to school? He'd have to fully finance his degree and I'm just not sure if it's worth it for him to start over at the bottom, or what industry he'd even fit in...

Given the presidents comments in the debate and the constant violations of the Hatch act that likely increased the risk of him catching COVID (ie all those maskless people on the lawn)...why should the American tax payers foot his medical bills now. This seems like something he should be paying OOP due to his recklessness

Worst case, but still possible: Covid continues to spread for years despite any vaccine (the rest of our lives). Unemployment skyrockets and the US becomes a developing country with squalid conditions for the low-income. We lose social order and all need to hire private security guards to protect our homes from theft and violence. This also means no more vacations or fun events because the risk of something bad happening is too high. What are your thoughts on this?
