I am on H1B, and currently based out of bay area, CA. Can I buy property/ real estate in TX or GA for purely investment purposes and use rental income from that to offset mortgage payment and generate cash flow. Is that okay to do on H1B? Anyone ever dealt with a green card legal fee expense repayment, I.e. clawback by an employer? Is it normally enforceable under NYS/NYC labor law? Repayment is required 24 months after receipt of the green card.

Doesn't necessarily have to be legal counsel, open to other roles, preferably not a big corporate firm (mental health reasons). S.O. and I are moving to Germany, both are allowed to work there due to EU nationality so visa is not an issue. Unfortunately not great German language skills (fully aware this poses a problem). Picking a country to live and work in: my spouse is a Mexican citizen (with US green card) who works in Mexico City, and I'm a US citizen. We want to live together, but my spouse has great career opportunities in tech in MC, and finding a job in the US has been hard. I could likely get a job in MC, but I don't speak Spanish and my income would be much lower. How should we handle the decision of who moves where? For US non-citizens:: Do the lenders ask for visa status when approving home loan? My house closing is in dec'22 and my current h1b visa expires in feb'23. Would there be a concern if try to finalize my loan say 45 days before my house closing (given the h1b extension process would be still underway during that window)?

How much do Partners make broadly speaking?

I love my job and have been doing it for years. My Principal is good to me as well! The problem is...the Paraprofessionals at my school are never recognized. You have Teachers Day, Secretaries Day, Principal's Day, etc. Paraprofessional Day comes and goes at my school every year with nothing mentioned to us. Paraprofessionals in my department (Sped) wear many hats on certain days and work extremely hard (mentally/physical)! Does anyone else get this treatment?

Any residential real estate lawyers wanna give me some insight? Bought a house with an undisclosed mouse infestation (literally hundreds in the attic/walls/insulation). The sellers supplemented their disclosures 3 days before closing to say they found a “couple” mice in the garage while moving out and that they had an exterminator out to fix the issue. Cool.
