I am on my 3rd and final round interview next week for a job I am very excited about. I am interviewing for a procurement manger job and will be meeting with their regional finance manager. What kind of questions do you think I can except from this role? I have never had to interview with a financial person before. Thanks!

I’d ask about how his/her financial team and the role interacts and collaborate. Focus the questions on about data the team needs and how it’s maintained from a procurement perspective. Our procurement team works closely with finance to build reports and analyze spending, savings, and rebates etc.

Interested to see some perspectives - currently working at a Payroll & Benefits Specialist at a fast growing company and recently passed my PHR! I just started this role only a few months ago but am already feeling like I can take on more, but not as much as a HR manager. I’m struggling to understand where exactly it is I can go from here. I’m 25, have 3 years of experience, and get paid $59k/year.

Where does one go from here? Thanks in advance for any and all answers!

Hello Fishes,

I am currently working as a senior connsultant in my project. My work is to supervise and help my team members overcome any hurdles or help them put away blockers. But I dont want to do this, instead I want a direct client facing role(onshore oppurtunity). How do I tell my director about it in a humble way, so that he doesn't get a wrong picture of me. There are other Sr.Cons as well in the team, but I am not sure whether they want onshore oppurtunity or not.

In my drunken stupor, I entertain him cuz objectively, he’s really really hot but in reality, I wanna shut it down cuz I’ve had bad experiences with hooking up with “straight” guy friends. Any way to diffuse/deflect this before escalating?

I need some advice. I have had two interviews with a company for a financial analyst role. It’s a private company with one owner. SaaS. The owner mentioned they’d been the subject of theft in both interviews, which I thought was very weird. At this point, I’m assuming they’ve gotten whatever internal control issues fixed, but I haven’t outright asked the question. The accounting team is 3 people including an outsourced CFO. I understand that one would be cautious about hiring if they’ve…

Thank you for any responses.

So I'm interviewing, have had loose salary conversation (talked about band but not specifics), and approaching the official offer stage. It's become clear the role is something I'm very well qualified for, but their pay expectations for the role are much lower than mine. How do I ask if I could be considered for a higher level position in the team in a higher salary band instead?

Ps. When I followed up on candidacy they were still making decision for weeks. I let them know I had another opportunity hoping it would hurry them up and ended up not taking the other opportunity. Could it be they rejected me bc of the other offer? The hiring manager seemed to think I’d be a great fit.
