I am planning to file for my parent’s GC. However they do not have a birth certificate. How did you go about getting the affidavit process started

Need advice on follow ups: Had initial call with recruiter that seemed to go well. He said to follow up mid next week if I didn’t hear from him. I did and he said the team hasn’t gotten back to him yet with interview selections but “there should be movement soon.” That email was Dec. 17th. Would you follow up again OR wait it out because not much happens during the xmas-nye time OR assume you weren’t selected for an interview? TIA
