✨ epidural ✨😃
Yeah!! Epidural
Read natural childbirth the Bradley way.
Even if you don’t choose unmedicated it will educate you about the physiological birth process which was gold to me and sounds like what you’re looking for.

Consider working with a Doula?

There’s a consulting moms bowl that should have more help for you.
I don't think anything will prepare you for what will actually happen. The more prepared you are the more likely reality won't meet expectations. Your body is a formidable force!
We did a class through our hospital which made me feel a bit more prepared / know what to expect. I also had a very positive labor experience and would do it again in a heartbeat. There are lots of horror stories out there but there are also plenty of great experiences that people don’t talk about as much.

Are things every the same down there afterwards?

I felt like you as well. It's pretty natural to be afraid.
I was more afraid of the epidural and episiotomy than the birth itself. Turned out my labor was so quick there was no time for the epidural so went 100% natural. My doctor did perineal massage and I didn't need the episiotomy.
As soon as the baby was born the pain was a distant past and I can't remember to this day.
You will do great! Congrats !
The epidural is the resource
Take a natural birthing class with a doula, they aren’t there to push unmedicated and I thought it was much more informative of what the body goes through then the hospital class. I’m like you where knowledge of what is “supposed” to happen was helpful. Write down birth goals and then be prepared to throw those out the window! It’s one of the craziest things your body can do! Embrace it!
Hypnonobirthing and understanding what happens in labour (and the options you have at every stage). Knowledge is power!
