I am pregnant with my 2nd and my job is very demanding. First trimester was bad for me with my first pregnancy and I took 2 months unpaid personal leave.
I can't afford that now and cannot risk my job. Not in public accounting anymore. I work in SEC reporting at a pharmaceutical company.

I am so thankful to be working from home for sure. I am just really dreaded to turn on my computer everyday with this hell of a morning sickness.

If you have been in similar situation. What worked for you?

Following, same here! My first pregnancy and work has been more demanding than ever. I still haven’t told my client as I’m waiting for my engagement team to allow me to tell my client.

Best of luck to you! I recall telling EY and my clients when I returned from sabbatical in 2nd trimester. My main client was so so nice, they even gave me a box full of goodies and books for the baby on my last day of work which was 5 days before giving birth.

You will love the journey and when they put that little baby skin to skin on your chest after labor, it feels like all 9 months pain is gone and only love remains!

There’s a prescription for morning sickness .. can’t remember the name offhand but your OB should know. And ginger ale?

Ugh that’s so rough. I threw up 7-8 times a day in my first trimester. The medicines didn’t help me. One thing that sort of helped me was eating a small breakfast before I got out of bed. My husband would bring me a half of bagel I would eat still laying down and that helped. Good luck!

Thank you for responding and for the advice. I tried salty carbs on bed like crackers. They do really help!! Thank you!

I'm in my second trimester now and I've been rather sick the whole time. I got a prescription for Doxylamine from my OBG. It's definitely helped make the nausea and puking more manageable. Speak with your OBG and see if that's a possibility.

I am sorry. I hope yours will ease soon. Every pregnancy is different, and I feel like I am struggling more this time. Thank you for the advice. I have my first visit in 10 days and will ask for the medication.

It’s hard to understand COVID-19 rates of infection where I’m at or was, and the contracts was not inline with corporate ideals at least not in the IT sector. Don’t know death rates was strictly remote and put on non-sanctioned project NDA wasn’t signed and never knew until it came down the grapevine.

Slalom 🐠 , what’s your WLB like? I have seen some of you posting good things about your WLB. Should I try to make a jump? Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

It’s a “boys weekend” (kids w/dad). Their grandad is also in town, since Wed. Dad has called to ask to have the boys in the evenings (i have W &Th, always). I have said “ok, but only if you don’t say anything negative about the polish.” So… they haven’t seen them. This hurts.
