I am really interested in accepting a job with a small operations consulting firm. The leadership are great and previously worked at some big name consulting firms. The work seems like it would be more interesting than what I am currently doing (audit) and I would get a decent pay bump most likely. My only worry is would this be a career limiting move if it is a smaller firm? About 40-50 consultants

What are your long term goals? If you stick to the traditional audit path, you either stick it out in pa to make partner or go to industry in some compliance type role. Consulting is different as it provides a wider range of exit ops, but also depends on the type of consulting.

Go consulting, you already have PwC on your resume so you have a brand name. Consulting will allow you to get a broader look at business, outside of corporate reporting and compliance.

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

Also has a roof-top pool for those hotter days with less workload.
