I am seeing a lot of people put 500-600k TC. Is that compensation package just for Bay Area people? Or are companies moving to national pay and removing the COL aspect? I live in Nashville and 300k TC is like VP pay.

Expecting an imminent FS consulting SM offer from Deloitte, should I expect a sign on bonus and what % is typical?

I need some suggestions/input. I am working in B4 tax compliance but second guessing if I want to keep doing compliance for the rest of my career in PA. Options are to stay in compliance and get promoted to manager soon (next few months but with a small raise to salary due to COVID) or try to switch to a specialty tax group (i.e ITS) and delaying manager promotion for a few years because of the learning curve.

I feel naïve, so any help is appreciated. How easy or difficult is it really to file your own taxes in the US? I’ve been here 2 years now and had used a CPA. However I moved to a different state and the rates here are ridiculous ($~700) and I am wondering if you all do it on your own? The few complications I have are - moved states, need to claim taxes paid on bonus repayment and have a stock sale transaction. Thanks so much!!
