I am stoked. I paid off two credit cards today. One one to go and I will be free of credit card debt.

THIS IS HUGE!!!!! congrats!!! Now time to start investing with the difference (if you can).

As an advisor, respectfully, hard disagree. Much smarter to use the difference to apply extra payments to your CC & pay it off faster. See: snowball method. CC interest rate is likely much larger than what 99% of people can expect to earn in the market. Delay investing to stop carrying CC debt. Also make sure you have an emergency fund.

Congratulations! Definitely something to be proud of!

Thanks, y’all. I needed to hear this positive words.

FA1: Pay off debt then invest has been my mantra. The interest rate on the CC is killer and in the short-term any gains will not even compete. I’m hoping to be free by September.

Hi tax 🐠,

I have a question for those who prep individual tax returns. My parents claim my grandfather as a dependent on their tax return and due to their low income, receive PTC for the premiums they pay on his insurance (not eligible for medicare). However, would it be advantageous to have him file for his own tax return (he stays with my parents and doesn't have his own proof of residency via bills). If so, can he get PTC if his income is 0?
