I am sure alot of you can relate to what I am going to ask here ..When your company hires an exec that is arrogant and chauvinistic, how would you deal with it .Only the females in the company are feeling frustrated as he seems to know everything and has only been in the company for a year .He listens to know one and just dictates what should be done ..Needed some input on how to deal with such a human .

Hello! This sounds like a narcissist and the best defense is the Grey rock method.

You remain polite, but make yourself as interesting as a Grey rock. Only discuss work, give none of your personality or energy to this person.

They will no longer have anything to use against you, and will become so uninterested that you will no longer be a target.

They prey on emotions, details about you, etc. If you give them nothing, they have nothing.

Also, calm assertiveness. It is okay to stand up for yourself. It is not "crazy" or "btchy" to speak your truth and draw your line in the sand.

Boundaries are important.

If nothing else works, my advice is go elsewhere.

Your job description does not include allowing anyone to make you uncomfortable or demoralized.

I hope it gets better. Ive gone through this alot and am here if you need me.

Thanks for sharing. I am going through a similar issue with a guy that has only been at the company for Less than a month but tries to get into Everything. What I am trying to do is making sure I call out inappropriate behavior. I’ll do it in a casual way but in a way that allows me to stand up for myself. Not sure if this helps but interested to hear other comments.

Hi All, I’m the same girl who posted about getting raped a month ago.
Last night I got the call from the detective that the DA rejected my case and made me close the case.
Ever since, I have been getting feelings of being a failure because I failed all the other victims who went through this. If not that, then I get feelings where maybe I hallucinated and assumed the whole deed and the rape didn’t even actually happen.
Has anyone gone through this? How did you deal with it?

Hello. Is there any interest in starting a coaching/mentor program for new ppl managers? I continually am asked at work what my goals are for my future and whether I will go into management. They keep telling me I will make a great leader/manager/director but I just seem to have an aversion to the idea of managing ppl. If I get myself there one day, I will be looking for an experienced mentor to guide me and advise me, esp in situations where I have to diffuse the dispute among direct reports.

I'm a minority owner in a small business that's doing ok but negatively affected by the markets. I overheard the other two owners discussing all the reasons I need to be removed from the company - things like I haven't brought in enough new business (I run operations) and that I waste time networking (one of my job duties). They said extremely hurtful things questioning my integrity and skills -they don't know that I heard them they haven't said anything to me directly. What would you do?
