I am thinking about having another baby. I have a 2 and a half year old boy. I am also going to be 41 next month. I had a really rough pregnancy the last time around and I’ll be 41 next month. Any mothers that had their kids after 40 with any advice?

I was 38 when I had my third, so not quite 40. While my pregnancy was fine, I will say that my recovery was a lot harder at 38 than at 30 & 32 when I had my first two babies. The lack of sleep was so much harder on my body and it took be a lot longer to feel “normal” after delivery. But a year and a half later, I’d say it was all worth it ❤️

I’m pregnant with my 3rd at 40. The fatigue is much more extreme than I remember from my first two pregnancies. That also could be having a 4 and 6 yo plus all that is life right now. 😩

Adopt no. 2. That is what I did. Best decision.

Thanks all for your responses. Does anyone have any suggestion for the kind of health assessment I should do? I haven’t been for my PCP in years. I see an endocrinologist. Don’t have an OB.

Sorry op. I typed in the wrong thread.

I have four children, born when I was 35, 36, 38 and 41. And I had a miscarriage at 40. The first three pregnancies all felt more or less the same - I felt fit until delivery. But then it got harder at 40 - first the miscarriage and then with my final pregnancy I had to rest 2.5 months before delivery and take medication against premature contractions. The other thing I would say is that with every child, the newborn phase - in particular getting up at night - felt a bit harder.

Thank you for sharing. I am sorry for your loss. I am glad to hear that in the end you are happy with your decision to have a forth child ❤️

My wife refuses to baby proof our house, meaning our toddler requires constant vigilant attention (i.e. need to be within a foot of him at all times to prevent situations) Eventually it’ll be good to teach him boundaries, but at this point it just hampers his ability to explore his world. I am taking another sick day this coming Monday. It's necessary for both my physical and mental health, which are severely compromised due to the stress of this insane school year (and the last one, and the spring before that -- I think this is cumulative with COVID, the political situation, etc.). I have never taken this many sick days during ANY school year in my 20+ years of teaching. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is anyone else having anxiety about taking so many days off?

New Dad here, Just found out my wife is pregnant. We’re excited! What books/podcasts can you recommend for getting ready for this adventure?

Parents, how much technology do you allow your kids to use? My friend's child is almost as proficient with her iPhone and he's 5...is that normal? Not a parent so I honestly don't know. Also, just read the Cocomelon has cocaine-like addiction tendencies for children so there's that.

Might not be the standard post, but I'm really going crazy. We have been trying for a while and today saw this. I see my OBGYN in 2 days, until then- does this mean I'm pregnant? I feel like it's a dream and I'm doubting myself and not sure if I'm reading it right or if it's all in my head!! It's positive, right?

Been thinking a lot about justice lately, and realized that justice applied unequally is justice denied. Lori Loughlin took a pic of her own kid working out, and is going to jail. A bunch of violent mobs topple statues of our Founding Fathers, and society looks the other way. What kind of example are we setting for the next generation?

I visited a friend of mine who has a 1 year old baby, and asked me if I wanted to get a dog. then she asked me if I wanted to get a plant 😂. since it is a good way to take care of something else, and to train for the future. Honestly I find this hilarious, but I don’t think having a plant or a dog will make my life fulfilling 🤣🤣

Ladies, what do you think of this dress for a girl baby's baby shower? The dress is more poofy than it looks in the picture (or so it fits on me). Don't want to stand out more than the mom 😂

My 6 mo just switched to a new daycare bc the old place (we started at 4mo) had NO transparency. she was coming out with dirty face, dried up tears, red marks, frequent blow outs etc that the teachers/admins kept brushing off. New place offers 24/7 camera access and provide lots of updates throughout the day. The teachers seem to be doing the best they can. But after the first week I noticed my baby was extremely aggressive, vocal, irritable, &can't nap. Should I be worried about the new place?

Hi I’m a baby and going to Colorado for the first time this weekend. I have friends who live there so I’ll be staying at their place. They all 💨🍃 daily and so I’ll likely do it as well. I’m worried about my luggage smelling like it on the way back. Has this ever been an issue for anyone?
