I am travelling out of country on an L1A. Do I need to bring any documents for my return to the US? The last time I was asked for a form (didn’t catch the number) which I didn’t have. The immigration officer let me pass regardless. Before was never asked for anything expect passport and I thought my visa would be sufficient if you have already used it to get in.

However, visa stamped on my passport is valid till next yr and I've got a new I-797 with I-94 date in the future. Just read the 157 pg rule. Wage level bands are changed to 45th percentile, 62, 78 and 95 (from the current 17, 34, 50 and 67). Same percentiles will be used for GC PWD purposes - so a level 2 job in the new system will almost require the pay of level 4 in the old scale, employers will be discouraged from sponsoring GC. The document also includes very detailed rationale for the rule and underlying analysis being performed. IMO the WH seems to be well prepared for this one.
