Just a Wednesday rant: I turned 40 yesterday and realized I've wasted the prime of my life in consulting. I neglected fam, friends and my own emotional & spiritual needs owing to the adrenaline and stress of this space, and corporate tech in North America in general. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm going to exit to something super low-key so I can finally start making some memories. Rant over. Thank you for reading.

Need some advice. Background...over 10 YOE in various infosec roles all in industry. Going through the motions of interviewing at ACN security consulting as an M. With my years of experience can I push for an SM? This would be my first client facing role. Also not too crazy about the travel (I know this is dumb to say as it’s consulting, but the bump in salary will be nice, I can almost guarantee it will be more than industry) but can M’s travel less compared to lower roles?
