Why do Partners move from one Big4 to another?
New to Fishbowl?

Honestly probably a great sign for you…Ie the guy/gal leading your service line is not plugged in or not generating dynamic ideas. My guess is that bodes well for you stepping into that role in next 2-3 yrs
Thanks fair point !
Leverage his email and your other work down to a Manager or Senior. This is the way
You have to be someone’s b…ch to move up in consulting 🤷♂️
lol, OP, and you’re complaining about this? Silly rabbit this means you’ve influenced a partner to the hilt and you should be discussing your path to promotion (and keep letting him/her know that you enjoy the opportunity he/she gives you in understanding senior leadership’s pov and you hope you’ll keep getting the opp to continue being a silent partner…)
Agree. You drop anything for the clients and Partner 1 should have your back on this. Make it clear what the emails are slowing down and have him toe your “plate” for you internally if you need. It’s a great opportunity, honestly, and gives you insight into inner workings of the company.
Once you get to partner level and P2 sees your writing style, your contributions will be known. No need to take the passive aggressive route and burn bridges
Ran out of room. I should view this as job security but it's stressful on top of my day to day job as a Director to manage clients, my team and develop new business. I feel like I'm taken advantage of.
I have tried to say things like I have other client priorities, I'll get to this later, etc. but Partner 1 freaks out if I don't respond promptly cause it looks bad on him if he doesn't respond timely to Partner 2.
What would you do?
How many layers of leadership do you all have 😂?
Usually line Partner (responsible for a solution workstream ie, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Audit, etc.) then a practice leader (Partner 1 - responsible for all of Risk Advisory) then Partner 2 (Executive Board or responsible for all of Consulting, or Tax, or Audit, etc.)
I dont think you are making partner this year. Your boss is taking credit for what you are writing/doing. Thats a toxic environment.
Ap1 is a clown
I believe he's just testing you while taking advantage of your situation. I'm sure if you send crap to him, he would not send it above. And that also would mean the end of your sponsorship.
So live with it for a while. If you are stressed with this, I'm not sure if you will be able to handle the stress of Partnership.
The year I made a partner, I slept less than 4.5 hours on an average. I had my business to build and I used to do all my Partner's presentations (including internal ones). Five years down the line, I think it was worth it.
Geez. They don’t make ‘em like they used to 😂
“Being taken advantage of…” 😂😂😂
Lol perfect
So you are his admin? Sounds crazy
:-D :-D really??? Thanks AP1!!!!
How long have you been in this job to be so naive? Find an effing Manager and build report so you can forward Partner 1’s emails like the rest of us and chill. ;)
This is the way.
How far up does this toxicity go? Is there a Partner 3 who’s sending those requests to Partner 2? 😂
Lol...probably. that's depressing
