I am very conservative in investment. Have $650K in CDs/HYS, $50K in stock funds, and maxing out 401K. I have no debt except $520K of house mortgage @ 2.6% interest rate (house value is approx $1M). Does it make sense to pay out a portion of the mortgage or should I invest more in the market?

650k in CDs/HYS at 37? That’s crazy conservative. At least move a majority of it into index funds.

Id pay off 120, buy a rental property with 200, save 50k, and put the rest in SPY

At 2.6, you are better of relying on the market. Since you're risk averse, look into index investments. Investment vehicle can depend on your age though. How far away are you from retirement age?

Put money into index funds, then :)

I’m 37 weeks pregnant and have never been busier at work, and I’m feeling so overwhelmed. I expected October to be a lighter month, wrapping up a few projects and transitioning matters to the associate who’s been hired for when I’m on maternity leave. But one other associate left the firm this month and a different team member is on a 10 day vacation so I have both of their work in addition to my own… and haven’t been able to finish my own because their work is more pressing. So stressed out!!

Is this reasonable or am I missing something? I started maxing my 401k from year 1 and I hope to have $5 million or more by the time I retire around 60. Wouldn’t it make sense to put all of my yearly $19,500 401k contribution to ROTH 401k instead of traditional 401k? My reasoning is that I would pay 35% tax now and my remaining 65% would grow tax-free in ROTH 401k…. versus traditional 401k where I deposit 100% but every distribution will be taxed 35% assuming I make a lot in retirement.
