New to Toronto, moved to the west end of town/ just past - in Etobicoke. I celebrate my 40th a few days after NYE/NYD - would love some recommendations on moderately priced but nice ambiance restaurants for myself + husband, and my extended family. Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

As of now, I’m on FMLA. As a department lead, I was led to believe that I would return to my role after my leave. My direct manager recently announced in a group meeting before I left that my supervisor role would be opened the day I return to the office, she noted that she is moving in a different direction. I have notified HR. However, no response. Is this legal?

While having drinks with my colleagues today one of them says “you’re not a citizen. Stop taking American jobs.” I am an immigrant yes, but I have a graduate degree from one of the target schools and have worked my a*$ off to be where I am.
