I am wondering if there will be liability on companies making people go onsite. Now my company has been amazing, but my friend is being told he has to go onsite. If someone is required to go onsite and gets Covid. Can the company be at risk ?

Only if the company is aware of someone with Covid being on site.

It remains to be seen, once the bulk of employers start requiring people to be on-site, potential lawsuits will follow.

Any recommendations for good books/resources on leading Gen Z'ers? These folks are a different breed 😅

I received a request from HR which is asking me acknowledge the receipt of Employee Handbook. The email also talks about acknowledging Employment Arbitration Policy & that nothing in the handbook is intended to constitute a waiver of your or company’s rights to compel arbitration of employment relate disputes”. What does this mean? I am in the middle of applying to FAML. Not sure if this can have anything to do with that?

Are recruiters worth more than L&D specialists? We have a new recuiter that transferred in from another dept. & is already making more than me and has a higher comp range. We have same tenure & they have NO prev. recuiting experience. I should also add I have been helping cover recuiting in interim. I also help cover HR tasks, have my SHRM, 5 years of HR exp., and 2 degrees. Is the "value" for recruiters more than L&D? I feel a little taken advantage of, but want to know if I'm off base here.

Fellow Payroll colleagues, how much are you getting paid and YOE? I’m a new pay admin with less than a year of experience in Hawaii and I feel like I am underpaid for the amount of work I do. Aside from processing payroll, I also do HR related work, specifically benefits and leave management and the amount of work is sometimes too much for me. I don’t know if it’s the fact that I’m new to the job or if the work is really too much because it’s overwhelming.

Does the word “inclusion” do more harm than good? What if the panel we simply said “Diversity & Equity”? My thought here is that inclusion insinuates that anyone who isn’t in the “majority” needs to feel “included”, which could be somewhat off putting. Shouldn’t the goal be for everyone to feel equal instead of simply feeling included? I’d love to get some opinions on this!

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company.
