I run contests with my team sometimes and make a huge fuss over those who commit, achieve and/or just really step out of their comfort zone.
Even basic work milestones, like hitting certain targets, recognition outside the team for that can go a long way.
I once sent my team seeds to plant. I called it let’s grow together. Every had to plant an d send in pictures, and I asked them what they wanted to sow goals wise. And we held each other accountable

Never forget to reward them for breaking targets, team recognition, outstanding leadership and loyalty. It's a nice way to show them that the company appreciates their hard work and contribution. I'm glad that your company takes time to celebrate their employees' birthdays. That's cute.
Our manager gives us incentives if we achieve the goal we set for each month. Our higher-ups are really supportive as well. It might be a simple thing to others but it is a big deal for us. We are happy that they recognize our efforts and performance.
Giving out incentives is a classic. Employees feel especially appreciated and determined to work harder when there is a reward.
