When choosing a company to work or move to, what benefits you care about the most post the very obvious ones (pay, promotion, title, culture etc.) - wondering how companies are trying to win the talent war so any input (even if random) is welcome :)
Teaching social/emotional learning (using a SEL curriculum) can raise a students academic performance by 11%. In addition to academic gains, growth confidence increased, friendship/relationships were better, anxiety reduced etc etc

I was hired on with a company at the same time as my male coworker. We work the exact position, different projects.
I asked him flat out what his salary was when he hired on. His salary is at minimum 15% more. He’s never had a raise.
Neither one of us had any experience in this specific position but he didn’t even have experience in tech, which I did.
I requested a performance and salary review via email b/c it’s my annual review time anyway. Best way to address this? Also applying elsewhere.

I am a software development project manager at a 60 person company but manage 13 developers. I currently make a $75k salary — based on research it looks like I should be paid just over $100k but plan to ask for $90k. Any insight as to if this is a reasonable ask?
Need help with AWS. I've got one interview to go but the recruiter I'm working with is asking about compensation and I'm uncertain. I've got 10 years of experience and I'm in line for a creative director promotion. Recruiter knows this and I was referred to levels.fyi the thing is... my title doesn't exist and the closest position I found is 178K base adding up to 300K. Seems okay to me. But the total comp seems obscene. Maybe I'm underpaid but would love some insight. Thanks in advance.
I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?
Hi AC folks. Is it true that promotion from Associate 2 to SA happens with a meagre hike of 5%? Anyone aware of this, please shed some light on this.
4YOE in consulting got shafted on promo to M with pay. Would you take a 7.5% raise to a startup company with 15% bonus (upwards of 30% for high performers which at Big4 been rated consistently high) plus stock. They mentioned they may have an additional increase start of CY and in process of growing out whole new org so potential to really accelerate into strong leadership roles. Just at point where I feel under appreciated and want to try something new.
I’m in-house at a small company (60 people), started right out of law school about 5 years ago. We had a legal team of 5 then. Everyone has left and we just hired a new GC. I went from $70k to $100k a little over a year ago. I am expecting an offer from a firm doing business law work but think this might be an opportunity to go to my current employer and ask for a significant raise, with new offer in hand. Any thoughts or advice going into this?
Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.
Im 5.7yrs - currently working as Software engineer in Fidelity Investments . Working late after 7pm IST not suitable to me. Early-Stage Startup Advice?
I’m in the concept stage of my startup. My concept is a D2C services offering that would appeal to a broad market - I’ve discussed with friends and family whom I trust about my idea, all of whom have given me highly encouraging feedback.
I know the early stages are critical and I don’t want to make a decision I’ll regret. Namely, I’m wondering if I should give up equity to find a co-founder with a valuable entrepreneur/investor network? Any feedback appreciated!
Hey, friends! I’ve been asked to give some workshops on the business of art. How much should I charge for something like this? For context, I’m an NYC actor with 6+ years of experience spanning nationally recognized regional theatre credits, audiobooks narrations with large publishing houses and one primetime network tv role. Interested clients are mostly student orgs at colleges/universities with theatre programs as well as arts nonprofits for high schoolers, so not massive budgets. Thanks!
What benefits do you think are the most important ones when you apply to work at a start up?
