I am deputed at the client office. I use PSL laptop only to check mails. But in my last appraisal my manager told me that I need to get 60 credit points for promotion. But due to client work load, i won't be able to do that. So, I have resigned from PSL mentioning the same that promotion will not happen.
But my manager told me that he will try to give me a promotion in next cycle (ignoring the credit points clause). He is asking me to withdraw resign
Shall I withdraw my resign? Persistent

I think you should do the right thing in this situation. If your concern is utilization/margin hit that’s not the right mindset as the firm strategy at this point is to get new people staffed and I think if you take new people to sacrifice utilization/margins it will reflect good only in this scenario on you. SC members are aware of this. If your concern is this adds more burden on experienced people who are already driving lot of things that’s different and we need to identify innovative ways to solve for that problem. I don’t have a solution for that either.
And why margins ??? By the way, i can take them in :D
Which space and office? DM
2 things:
1) sounds like your space has been over staffed for a while. 85% is basically 100% when accounting for sick days, vacation, and holidays
2) we as a firm (and really professional services as a whole) need to do a better job of identifying what is managerial accounting and what is financial accounting. Failing to differentiate the two and understand the real intent of managerial accounting is quite problematic.
