I applied for a Director position yesterday. They just reached out saying I asked for 20k over their top budget; they are going to remove me from the applications unless I was willing to come down. Is this a tactic or has anyone had experience asking for more right out the gate and still got the interview?

Advice needed! I interviewed with my favorite company 3 months ago for a role I was interested in but had no experience. They were looking for someone with experience so they passed on me. The recruiter and I had a great relationship, she said she has a different role for me in mind and would give me a call when it opens up and told me I can reach out in a month or two. Working with this recruiter for the past few months has seriously been the best experience and has inspired me to (cont below)

In HCl offer, there are 2 components for variable pay, one is paid monthly and one is paid yearly. Do we get the complete amount mentioned in both the parameters in variable pay?

Long story short- my position is being subcontracted and likely means a pay cut. My wife and I moved 1300miles for this job less than 6m ago.

We obviously don’t want to move again so quickly, and I’m more of a wet lab scientist so remote work isn’t much of a thing. I currently have an offer for 30% more than my uncut salary, local, but it’s a step down in position (Scientist to Research Coordinator). Do I take the money? Or is the title more important? Recent grad with no clue

I have been nominated for Ireland WP and it was raised from my end. I just need few things during this process.

Help, I made a mistake! A recruiter emailed me and I agreed to a phone interview. I did little research on the company and none on the salary… (I know my mistake) One of the first questions I was asked was about compensation to which I answered 45k-50k. (to quote the recruiter this is a “upper level entry level job”) the recruiter told me the base is $45,500. I got home, did research, and found the company paying the same position 55k on Glassdoor. Is it too late to ask for money?

Hello All, Office Sup. for a major hospital, w/ 15 years experience. I have lots of experience in every position in the office, especially in training. I recently applied for an EPIC trainer position within the company and according to Glassdoor the average pay is about 23k more than what I currently make. I’m afraid of getting a lowball offer since 1. they obviously know my current salary and 2. I’d be new at this particular role, although I meet qualifications. Any advice if that’s the case?

I have been at my job for over a year and a half, I started as a cashier and worked my way up to warranty administrator. When I moved to warranty I trained the new cashiers, I found out I was making around $4 an hour less then my replacement (I had been asking for a raise for 7 months). I later received a raise but was matched with what the new cashier was making, I am now making $19/hr and am almost fully in charge of all warranty operations for the building. I was offered a new job in Internal Audit/ Consulting role at my current employer. W/ a jump in pay-grade level, 1 level (Hay Grade 16 to 17), and a 20% increase in salary ($108K to $130K) and 5% increase in potential bonus pay-out (10% to 15%).
