I applied for a job and was interviewed by the TA Lead who told me that he'll follow up with me on Monday after connecting with the HR team. How long should I wait until I follow up? I sent a follow up at the end of the day Monday but haven't heard back yet. Should I assume I didn't get selected? I'm really excited about this position but don't want to be that "annoying" candidate either haha

I’m a recruiter. Don’t be “that” candidate. You’ll know the answer when they have one to give. Did you write a thank you note after the interview?

like

This is really helpful. Thank you for this.

I would not recommend following up more than once per week. I’d be patient, if they’re interested, they’ll reach out.

like

That's a really good point! Thank you for your feedback. I certainly don't want to be that person :)

Yes, patience is a virtue. Even though you're excited, its important to be able to wait patiently until you hear the news.

like

Thank you so much! It's so hard I'm excited about the role and company but will definitely try not to be too eager :) if it's meant to be it's meant to be!

the process now takes longer than the usual, so you have to be patient. Some applicants have to wait for 2-3 weeks to get a call from the HR. Others not selected sometimes never get a call. So you have to wait a little bitt longer.

You should wait first. Sometimes it takes a week or two. but you can also email/call them for an update at least once a week.

Looking for advice, strangers. Currently on a team that has grown exponentially over the last few months. However, I have felt stagnant in my role for a while, as leadership has changed many times, causing annual plans and budget requests to go ignored or unapproved. Few weeks ago I saw a new role, applied, and was offered the role. Around the same time, new leadership joined my team and offered to elevate and support my role. Do I stay or do I go?

Trying to apply for another position at the same company but my boss told me explicitly that if they find out people on our team are looking for other jobs, they will stop giving that person raises, promotions, bonuses, & access to opportunities. I have spoken with the hiring manager for the new position and he just asked me if I have notified my current manager. Not sure how to navigate this tricky situation. Was hoping to interview before having to tell my manager that I am applying. Ideas?
