I would reach out and discuss it with your recruiter (assuming they aren't internal). They should know the client well enough to advise and probably also know more about the other role.
I echo this! The recruiter will be able to flesh out the opportunity to present you for both offices.
Prior response has worked with significantly better recruiters than I have. In my experience, the recruiter will do absolutely zero that puts their commission at the slightest risk. I don't see how the recruiter thinks they're more likely to get a commission by telling the one job you're interviewing for that there is a different job you may like more. And the fact that the other job is at a different office of the same firm does not mean it is not a different job.
You could also reach out directly to the firms HR department. I know I work for a national firm with offices everywhere and they’re listed as “remote” but due to in-person court appearances, we still want people in specific regions/areas. The firm’s HR could also help address this issue if you know the name of the firm.
If the NJ & PA firms are close in proximity to you it may be possible to negotiate working in both offices. I would inquire sooner rather than later with the recruiter and let them know your preference for PA, and if you’re open to working out of both.
If they definitely want someone in the office in the specific locations or the roles are for completely different needs it could help you for the PA role and hurt your for the NJ role. But if you are still in the running after the interview then maybe that’ll put you one step closer for the PA role. So just speak up.
