Hi Fishes,
I am currently working world's largest beer company. I have current CTC of 25 LPA and I am expecting hike of 10% at least within the company.
I got interviewed at Pepsi Co for Lead -2 position and have cleared all the rounds. How much can I expect, I have just asked 30% on current CTC.
Please do let me know as it will be very helpful. Do they provide relocation allowance, do i need to submit any documents for them. Also, do they offer any joining bonus?

I’m so happy this bowl exists 🥹🫶🏼
In my experience, Ops Mgrs don't have any idea what HR really does. They want us to be the party planners and set the culture for the entire organization. What they don't understand is that they have more face-to-face interaction with employees and they are truly the ones who decide whether employees are engaged in their job. Not HR.
We touched on this briefly. I was trying to explore this more. I asked what the general culture of the property was (its a casino here in Vegas). They didn’t know. I asked about how their vision for the HR Dept fit with their vision for the Casino. They didn’t know. I asked about their pain points in driving engagement with employees. 2 didn’t have an answer and 1 said the pandemic. All their answers were just repeating the same question. “Do you think you’ll live this job?”
Wow - what is it like to work somewhere where there are no real HR issues to manage and they want someone who can do backflips and throw pom poms all day? I would love to apply.
KIDDING - I would have a very frank conversation about your ability to do the job and why they are not confident in your ability to manage. If it has been open 3 times in 2 years, you know what not to do based on the people who have left the role and even if you have not managed before - how else are you supposed to gain that experience? Agree with HRBP1 that they will not be able to replace you easily so they want to keep you in the role with false praise while keeping you from growing your career.
I am not an overly enthusiastic person but it has never gotten in the way of doing my job, even as a recruiter. You don't have to be enthusiastic to be genuine and it's unfortunate that they can't even give you answers on what their expectations are or what success will look like.
I feel like I have been recommending that people seek employment elsewhere a lot, but it sounds like they do not value you because of something they deem more important than the actual training of employees (which isn't part of your job) and doing your own job well.
No one is "living the job" right now (hello Quiet Quitting) and it kind of sounds like you may be dodging a bullet if they don't even know what they want in the role besides someone who can rally a team. Employees don't want to be cheered on if the person cheering doesn't understand their job or how a department/company works.
Hate that it appears they deem you unfit to manage. Your resume and all of your experience indicates otherwise. Have you talked to them about this outright ?
I tried to push the conversation forward… they just asked me repeatedly if I was going to live the job or not.
Yeah, I'd want some real answers here too. Something seems fishy. It's like they're being condescending but giving the illusion of being rewarding..which I can only imagine is obnoxious to you.
It was kind of comical. But definitely a red flag to keep in mind.

You’re so good at your job that they know they won’t be able to replace you. They rather keep you where you are instead of promoting you.
THat sounds so weird. I don't really understand what they mean when they say you aren't an HR cheerleader. And anyhow I think most of being a manager is being a leader....not so much a cheerleader.
I tend to agree with you. They seemed to really focus in on getting employees to engage in extracurricular company activities. An example they gave was an ongoing pumpkin carving contest throughout the casino. There’s about 1200 employees… they had 4 participants. They want someone to think of more creative activities and get employees involved I guess. It seemed kind of depressing to think people can’t just come to work and do what you have hired them to do. They have to do arts and crafts with a smile to stroke management’s ego. Hearing all of that made me feel like there was a lot of room to improve the culture there… I was kind of disappointed that I wont have that chance. But I have a feeling the job will be open again in 6 months smh
They basically want to put you in another role. Well, if you think you can do it, then why not. Just don't take it personally if they refer you to another role.
